My most sincere thanks to the directors of the three institutions that have provided support for this exhibition, Pina Ragionieri (Fondazione Casa Buonarroti), Massimo Ferretti (Laboratorio Arti Visive, Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa), and especially Alessandro Nova (Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz), who oversaw the origins and development of this project and with whom I discussed at length the topics here presented.
